On this island where Zeus was born- sits the Elounda Mare hotel and its bleached-white limestone cottages looking out onto the turquoise waters of the Mirabello bay. This complex and its maze of gardens with their intoxicating essences are bathed in an ethereal light. The spacious and intimate bedrooms - some of them with a private pool - enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Mediterranean. The private beach- the tennis courts- the spa and the splendid golf course- both 500 metres away- will offer plenty to fill your days. This location is also the perfect place from which to discover Crete and its legends- monasteries and chapels bequeathed by the Byzantine civilization. Elounda Mare usually opens near the end of April and closes every year around the 20th October. CLUB 5C- Hotel welcomes Relais and Chateaux Club 5C members with a VIP Welcome and a Discovery Privilege. Please include the Club 5C membership number in the reservation and please show your Club 5C membership card on arrival.

Directions

Heraklion Kazanzakis From HER-Heraklion Kazantzakis Airport it is 44mi east to the property. Straight from the airport exit- follow signs for Aghios Nikolaos -New road-. Follow the main road above Hersonissos-and Malia and past Neapolis. Just before reaching Ag. Nikolaos- turn left at the junction with traffic lights- then turn right after about 200m- at the next traffic lights- for Elounda. After about 7km- going downhill towards Elounda- turn right for Elounda Mare. The junction is just after a petrol station on your right. You will first face the Elounda Beach Hotel- then follow the small road to the right and find Elounda Mare.
