Description

Judges Country House Hotel was built on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors in 1881 as a family residence. In the 1970s the building was transformed into a country lodging for circuit court judges - hence the name. The carefully restored house replete with glossy Victorian woodwork has a comfortable clubby atmosphere that is known to play havoc with guests short-stay plans. Adding to its charm are the lovely gardens with their sunny terraces and Victorian walled garden where fruit and vegetables are grown for the kitchens and extensive woodland walkways. Judges Country House Hotel is a delightful getaway for families or couples and business travellers. Special break packages such as Bubbly Bygone-Romantic Break and Valentine are available. Hotel bedrooms come equipped with free internet access and MP3 docks. Judges Country House Hotel is a terrific base for exploring the Yorkshire Moors and visiting the ancient abbeys of Rosedale and Rievaulx or Mount Grace Priory as well as the coast at Whitby. Fossil-hunting is a must and Captain Cook is celebrated with his own museum and monument.
