Ockenden Manor is a peaceful haven set in 9 acres of grounds with fine views over the Sussex Downs just a hour from London and 20 minutes from Gatwick Airport. This beautifully elegant Elizabethan House is set on the edge of the tudor village of Cuckfield. Each of the 22 bedrooms which are named after members of the families to have owned the manor since 1520 has a different character. For example The Merrick Suite has its own sitting room and private balcony overlooking the South Downs while the Elizabeth boasts its own private staircase and four poster bed. Some of the rooms have original fireplaces and panelling and many offer delightful garden views. Ockenden Manor is a place to relax and to enjoy the traditional and gentler side of life.
