Built over a spring water as a defensive fortress protected by watchtowers at the beginning of the xiii century, villa campestri olive oil resort is an historic building in the mugello valley, about 35 km north-east of florence. The villa is set 450 m above sea level in a lush park of 124 hectares, surrounded by secular olive groves. The 1430 land register records the enlargement of the building from fortress to manor house. In the late xvii century a second important architectural intervation, which gave the building its present appearance as a renaissance villa, took place. The restoration work undertaken by its new owner, the pasquali family, has kept its charme intact. Key architectural and structural features have been maintained, and the villa has been painstakingly restored to its former glory using original materials such as antique terracotta floor tiles, original plaster, polychromatic caissoned wooden ceilings and old carved oak beams. The property has 26 rooms from classic to superior from triple to junior suites from prestige suite to the honeymoon suite featuring a beautifully restored xviii century four-posted bed.
